About the Forum

The Eurasian Women’s Forum will take place on 24 – 25 September in St. Petersburg. The Tavricheskiy Palace will be the official venue of the Forum. MPs, representatives of executive authorities, businesses, academia, NGOs, and prominent leaders of the worldwide international feminist movement will come together in the Northern Capital of Russia.

Valentina Matvienko, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation is presiding at the Organizing Committee of the Forum.

The Forum will focus on discussing the issues of social well-being and sustainable development, international action to build trust and achieve progress, empowerment of women in evolving economic context, politics and social integration. The Forum’s agenda will feature plenary sessions, panels, presentations of humanitarian and charity actions, expos, roadshows and workshops on women’s historical footprint.

Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the Federation Council, will open the Forum’s plenary session on Women in Today’s World: New Horizons of Cooperation.

The utmost relevance of the Forum builds on the strengthening of integration across the Eurasian Economic Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States and Shanghai Cooperation Organization, as well as on the mainstreaming of women’s role in addressing both domestic and global challenges within the Eurasian space. The Forum’s overarching objective is to kick-start efforts to reinforce the international humanitarian action.
