The winners of the Russian Creative Awards were announced at the Zaryadye Concert Hall on 18 December. The award aims to identify the most successful practices that have been developed in the Russian creative sector and to provide them with support and national recognition.
The Open Innovations Startup Tour project (NLMK/Skolkovo) won the category ‘Best Creative Project in the Industrial Sector’. The award was received by Yekaterina Inozemtseva, General Director of the Skolkovo Forum and Coordinator of the ‘Women in the Digital Economy. STEM Project’ of the Council of the Eurasian Women’s Forum.
The project is roughly ten years old and is actively developing. It was initially a project that was more aimed at promoting technology entrepreneurship before incorporating acceleration and educational programmes, including for women entrepreneurs. In 2019, the project took on a separate track – ‘Best Women’s Technology Project’. For three years, women accounted for 59% of the 15,569 participants in the Startup Tour.
“Creativity is one of the key qualities of everyone who participated in our project. No innovation is born without a creative idea and creativity. This award is a great recognition for our entire team,” Inozemtseva said.
The Russian Creative Awards were held for the first time. What makes the new award unique is that it unites different creative industries: music and sound design, computer graphics, cinema, publishing and journalism, architecture and urban studies, design, television, IT, game development, fashion, art, and new media.
Along with the Russian Creative Week Forum, the award was included in the official programme of the UN’s International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development.
