Selection process for APEC BEST AWARD gets under way

Applications to represent Russia at the final of the APEC BEST AWARD for female entrepreneurship are currently being accepted. The closing date for entries is 15 September.

In order to qualify, candidates must own at least 50% of a micro-, small, or medium-sized enterprise (for the entrepreneurial projects category), or manage a small or medium-sized enterprise (for the female leaders category).

The APEC BEST AWARD is an international competition which was first established in Russia. It aims to promote female entrepreneurship, replicate the best entrepreneurial projects, and help in the search for investors and partners in the Asia-Pacific region.

Two winners from each of APEC’s 21 member economies will go on to the final, which will be held online on 3 November 2021 in New Zealand.

The jury will be made up of leading international experts from APEC, representatives of the government sector, and entrepreneurs.

The competition has been held annually since 2016 by the Ministry for Economic Development of the Russian Federation and OPORA RUSSIA’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Development Committee. It is supported by the Eurasian Women’s Forum Council.
