Anastasia Ryzhikova’s exhibit ‘Time for the First Ones!’, which is dedicated to space pioneers, has opened at the Federation Council. The exhibit consists of portraits of astronauts and designers – the people who have brought us closer to outer space – as well as works dedicated to the first space flight. The exhibit offers a special focus on Valentina Tereshkova, the first female cosmonaut, as well as the human perception of outer space.
The space theme is near and dear to the artist, as she was born in Baikonur.
The project is more than just traditional paintings. The author of the works combined painting, printing, and metal – a material that she believes connects humans and technology. One of the heroines of the artist’s paintings, Valentina Tereshkova, is a laureate of the ‘Public Recognition’ prize of the Eurasian Women’s Forum. There will be another opportunity to meet her and hear her speak on 13–15 October at the third Eurasian Women’s Forum in St. Petersburg.
